Job Description: The person in this position will assist the director in coordinating all aspects of the department's athletic communications office, including, but not limited to, statistical record-keeping, website maintenance, social media, video webcasting services, photo/video editing, media relations oversight, event management, award nominations, staff/student-athlete profiles, and special event coordination. This is a 10 month, full time position.

Responsibilities :
Supports the director in providing oversight and direction of all athletic communications, media relations, and public relations for the Athletics Department.
Produces electronic and printed content to promote the department's athletics programs, student-athletes, home athletic events, fundraising efforts, and community service initiatives.
Updates and maintains athletics website and historical archives/record books.
Provides regular and engaging content for all athletically-related social media platforms and accounts.
Produces post-game interviews, video highlight packages, and information graphics.
Compiles and submits statistics and team results in accordance with guidelines set by NCAA, conference, and affiliated organizations.
Nominates and promotes student-athletes, as well as the university as a whole, for various athletic, academic and miscellaneous awards and honors.
Helps manage and maintain content for all athletics photography.
Provides administrative support for special athletic events, including end-of-year athletics banquet and other programming.
Contributes to Athletic Hall of Fame programming, including direct involvement with the planning and selection committees.
Assists in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and managing payroll for student employees assigned to work in the athletic communications office.

Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities may include event management, facility supervision, assigned administrative tasks, committee work, or representing the Athletics Department at conferences/meetings.
Qualifications :
Education:
Bachelor's degree in athletic communications, sports management, or related field from accredited college or university is preferred.
Combination of degree completion and professional work experience will be considered in absence of a bachelor's degree.
Experience:
Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required with prior experience in athletics or related fields strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership, vision, personnel, and management skills.
Previous experience with volleyball and ice hockey game management and stat keeping preferred.
Skills:
Computer competency required. Experience with Stat Crew software, NCAA Live Stats software, Adobe Creative Suite, SIDEARM Sports content management system, various social media platforms, BlueFrame/Hudl video webcasting services, and video editing programs strongly preferred.
Basic photography skills and photo editing knowledge strongly preferred
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, whether dealing with individuals or groups, and an ability to work well with different constituents.
Strong initiative, detail, and follow-up skills with student-athletes, staff members, and administration.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.
Ability to work on multiple projects under time constraints.
Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgment.
General computer knowledge with a proficiency in Word and Excel.
Special Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel for games expected.
Evening and weekend availability is required.
Flexibility with an evolving work environment is important.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
Current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications required. Training and recertification can be provided if necessary.
Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.
Compliance with athletic conference rules and regulations required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move about campus and other locations.
Physical ability to include standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, kneeling and stooping, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the thoroughness of the work assigned that allows for independent and accurate recording of statistics for all sponsored sports in a variety of athletic venues (student athletes in active game play, indoors and outdoors).
