Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, supervising the Director of Events, Facilities, and Equipment; serves as tournament director for post-season events; camp & external rental oversight (scheduling, budgetary, contract fulfillment, etc.); transportation management; and ticket management. Assists and advises the Associate Director of Athletics. Must comply with the NCAA, PSAC, and University rules and regulations. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises the Director of Events, Facilities, and Equipment and business operations student-workers and interns.
Oversees the scheduling and contracts for all games and external rentals.
Serves as the primary contact for external rentals.
Expedite hiring and payment of per diem assistance as needed.
Serves on occasion as the primary game-day administrator for home football and basketball games.
Ensures scheduling of game-related staffing is expedited and processes payment for all game workers and officials.
Oversees outside maintenance and contractors for any necessary repairs.
Maintains and updates the deferred maintenance tracker and makes recommendations for capital items and replacement annually.
Compiles and submits post-season bid paperwork; works collaboratively with internal and external constituents.
Review team inventory records and discuss upcoming equipment and team needs annually to assist in budgeting projections.
Reconciles all purchase orders.
Coordinates, schedules and issues payment for all team transportation needs.
Ensures all University Athletic vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
Direct oversight of ticketing operations and works in collaboration with the Assistant Director for External Relations to develop and implement season ticket campaigns.
Reconciles all camp and team fundraising revenue, at times in conjunction with the Assistant Director for External Relations.
Oversight of purchasing card management.
Performs other duties related as assigned within the scope, responsibility and requirements of the job.
Bachelor’s degree. 3-5 years of experience or involvement in event, business, and internal operations in a college athletic setting. Strong communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of facility, business, and travel management. Experience supervising staff. Valid driver’s license, that is in good standing. CPR, First Aid, and AED. Must be able to work nights and weekends.
Masters in sport or business administration.
Able to meet the physical demands associated with working outside in inclement weather and in a game-day setting, in addition to a busy office and University environment. Work is performed outdoors in a busy office and university setting.
