Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics, Recreation. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes participating in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).
This role provides key strategic leadership and oversight for recreation facilities, programs, and staff. This role is responsible for the overall vision, management, and continuous improvement of services, with a focus on data-informed decision-making and staff development to ensure an inclusive and engaging environment for the entire university community. This position directly and indirectly oversees the day-to-day operations of the fitness/wellness and membership areas by managing the department managers.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the hiring, training, and supervision of a diverse team of full-time, part-time, and student staff, including managers for the fitness/wellness and membership departments.
Collaborate on the development of the annual budget, forecasting capital needs for equipment and facility upkeep.
Direct the development and implementation of promotional strategies in collaboration with institutional marketing teams.
Manage the creation of engaging content to enhance program visibility and facility use.
Oversee outreach campaigns and analyze performance metrics to guide future marketing efforts.

Education and Experience
The successful candidate for this position will be required to complete a criminal background, Education and DMV check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
