Job Summary
Under the primary direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration/ Chief of Staff, the Assistant Director of Business Operations is responsible for assisting with the business office and human resource functions of the department. The position will assist with a number of operational tasks such as: budget review, procurement, and expense reporting; managing the hiring and exit process of employees; assisting with strategic Athletic Department projects; and oversight of the Graduate Assistant program.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Business Operations:
o Process employee expense reports, purchase requisitions, and vendor invoices.
o Prepare financial deposits and track documentation.
o Provide guidance to staff on appropriate use and allocation of Purchasing Card
transactions.
o Assist with budget review and monthly reconciliation process.
Human Resources Coordination:
o Assist with human resource functions such as processing new hires and
resignations
o Helping with on-boarding and off-boarding paperwork for employees
Graduate Assistant Program Management:
o Oversee the University Athletic Department’s Graduate Assistant (GA) program.
o Assist staff and coaches with identifying, recruiting, and onboarding qualified
GAs, while monitoring budget and compliance.
Strategic & Administrative Support:
o Contribute to special projects and department-wide initiatives aimed at
operational excellence.
o Take on additional fiscal or administrative duties as assigned, with flexibility to
adapt to the evolving needs of the department and University
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence a variety of stakeholders.
Develop effective working relationships with coaches and other members of the Athletic
Department and throughout the University.
Effective time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities
simultaneously.
Proficient with personal computers, including the entire suite of Microsoft Office
Applications and others as required.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Business Administration or Sports Management is highly
desirable. Advanced Degree is preferred.
An understanding of NCAA rules and regulations is required.
Thorough knowledge of University policies and procedures is desirable.
Minimum Work Experience:
o 1-2 years of administrative experience in athletic department or related area
o Demonstrated ability to work with others.
o Ability to successfully balance and manage multiple tasks in an active, fast-paced
environment.
o Excellent oral, written, and computer skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to physically perform essential job duties or have special accommodations
arranged in advance.
