The mission of the NC State University Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic, and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. This position will work within the Multimedia Department in NC State Athletics, a Division 1A program within the Atlantic Coast Conference (
ACC
).
The Assistant Director/Creative Video will tell the story of NC State Athletics through the creation of social media, recruiting, and feature storytelling video content. This individual will be instrumental in developing a strategic brand and identity for a number of NC State University’s varsity sports programs. The Assistant Director of Creative Video will also manage and develop the creative video department’s student worker program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work alongside the Assistant AD for Creative Video in order to provide industry-leading creative video content for all 23 Wolfpack athletic programs
Ideate, shoot, edit, and produce social media, recruiting, and feature content for all assigned sports
Manage student worker program, developing the knowledge and skill sets of a number of student workers
Create feature video content that can be repurposed for video board shows, live events, and the
ACC

ESPN

Maintain NC State Athletics brand standards while developing a strategic creative video plan for all assigned teams
Create and develop video opportunities to capitalize on personal branding for coaches and student-athletes from assigned teams
Remain up-to-date on social media video trends
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and Administration.
Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a Broadcast Television, Radio and Emergingmedia Environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Proficiency in Avid non-linear video editing or comparable software.
- Experience shooting live sporting events and creating highlight packages.
- Experience posting packages to web.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- One year of relevant experience in the fields of video editing and sports video production.
- Demonstrated interest and competence in visual storytelling, with a passion for college athletics
- Proficiency with Sony equipment and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with social media trends and analytics
- Collaborative and detail-oriented, with the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team
- Capacity to manage student interns and to develop their creative video skills
- Ability to work unusual hours, both nights and weekends
- Physical capability to carry heavy equipment up to 25-30lbs
