Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, Athletics and Recreation, and in concert with the Associate Directorof Athletics for External Relations, the Assistant Director of Development, Athletics and Recreation will build and manage acomprehensive annual and special gifts program (known as Eagles Club) for the Department of Athletics and Recreation.The Assistant Director will be responsible for solicitation of annual and special gifts through cultivation and stewardship andwill build a trusted pipeline through direct solicitation of alumni and friends.

Apply NowIn all these capacities, the Assistant Director participates in overall Office of Development activities in support of the broaderobjectives of the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and the Director of Athletics.
Essential Functions
Meet annual gift/pledge and cash revenue goals for personal performance established by the Chief Development Officer, Athletics and Recreation to support the comprehensive annual and special gifts program (known as Eagles Club). Develop programs and strategies to identify, prioritize, cultivate, and solicit key individual prospects rated up to $50,000. Manage a portfolio of 50-150 annual and special gift prospects and achieve personal goals for prospect cultivation (measured by number of calls, emails, visits and contacts), solicitation and gift closure.
Coordinate all planning, communications, execution of events, campaigns and outreach for the EaglesClub. Contribute to Athletics and Recreation external operations efforts through collaboration with Head Coaches and theAssociate Director of Athletics for External Relations. These Eagles Club activities include preparation and distribution ofdevelopment newsletters and campaign materials for each sport program (electronic & hard copy), creating and maintaininge-mail list serves, assist with social media accounts, attend sport program home contests, department special events and host vibrant schedule of hospitality related receptions for Eagles Club members , alumni and friends.
Manage the reporting of development progress and execution of ongoing acknowledgement letters,accounting for revenue and donor count updates and trends to the Chief Development Officer, Athletics and Recreation andDepartment of Athletics and Recreation leadership
Assist the Chief Development Officer, Athletics and Recreation with a broad range of functions andprovide administrative support related to support for the Department of Athletics and Recreation. This includes but is notlimited to volunteer management (Eagles Leadership Council, Athletics Young Alumni Board), planning, organizing, andfollow-up of fundraising events, and attending many home and road games.
Other duties as assigned in fulfillment of the objectives established by the Chief Development Officer, Athletics and Recreation.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree.
2-4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution, Master’s degree preferred.
Two to four years of experience in development or another field (such as sales, marketing, public relations, alumnirelations, event management) showing progressive responsibilities, and with demonstrated success in closingannual gifts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by clear, concise, and persuasive writing, publicspeaking, and private discourse.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated experience successfully working with personsfrom diverse backgrounds.
Excellent analytical, research, and time management skills.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
High-level proficiency with MS Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point), social media platforms(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), fundraising systems (CRM Advance a plus), and e-communications strategies
Experience using fundraising databases, specifically Ellucian CRM Advanced, is preferred but not required.
