.Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Development for TJU, East Falls Campus, the Assistant Director of Development will solicit individual donors and prospective donors for major gifts to the University and its priorities. Fundraising activities include identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of alumni, prospects and donors.

  • In collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Development, TJU East Falls and Vice President, TJU, the Assistant Director of Development will support the priorities of TJU and develop a comprehensive understanding of a major gifts plan to support the University and its priorities.
  • Maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects, maintaining frequent and consistent contact with prospects, department leaders, and key members of Jefferson’s administrative leadership. Maintain and manage this portfolio in a manner that fosters a relationship that leads to philanthropic commitment and understanding of a donor’s philanthropic intentions.
  • Serve as dedicated liaison to the Thomas Jefferson University Athletics program to establish, maintain, and grow a highly responsive and collaborative development program. Engage Athletic Director and individual coaches as philanthropy champions to identify and cultivate alumni, parents, benefactors and prospects.  
  • Identify and execute opportunities to leverage strategic athletic engagement, including Hall of Fame induction, receptions, alumni events, Athletics-specific communications, etc.
  • Responsible for an assigned prospect pool in collaboration with internal stakeholders and for strategy execution and the achievement of defined performance goals – including faculty

  • Manage an individual prospect pool of 120+ individuals

  • Conduct a minimum of 125 Meaningful Donor Encounters per year

  • Generate 2 proposals per month > $10,000K (minimum 24/yr)

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
