The Athletics Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Donor Relations & Development Operations. This position will lead and drive the overall strategy for engagement and community building as part of an integrated external relations team. This includes full responsibility for the development, implementation, and assessment of programs, events, and services designed to increase donor engagement with the Athletics department.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Assistant Director of Donor Relations & Development Operations is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of programs and services meant to develop and enhance long-term relationships between and among the department's student-athlete alumni, students, faculty, donors, and the broader community. In addition to creating and delivering a wide range of programs and premier events focused on engaging donors and friends in the life of Athletics, the Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations will also manage communications to donors and maintain the office's donor database and webpage.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Identifies engagement priorities and devises plans and strategies to accomplish goals. Establishes short and long-term goals regarding engagement strategies. Work collaboratively with the administrative staff, coaches, and development colleagues in support of engagement initiatives.
  
• Prepare event briefings and talking points for the Athletic Director and Coaches for all high-profile donor engagement events and board meetings. Manage communications to donors and maintains the office’s donor database and webpage.
• In coordination with the Assistant Director of Development Annual Fund, works with the Graduate Assistant to make solicitation calls and ticket sales.
  
• Lead and drive the overall strategy for engagement and community building as part of an integrated external relations team. This includes full responsibility for the development, implementation, and assessment of programs, events, and services designed to increase donor engagement with the Athletics department.
  
• The Assistant Director of Donor Relations & Development Operations is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of programs and services meant to develop and enhance long-term relationships between and among the department’s student-athlete alumni, students, faculty, donors, and the broader community. In addition to creating and delivering a wide range of programs and premier events focused on engaging donors and friends in the life of athletics, the Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Development Operations will also manage communications to donors and maintain the office’s donor database and webpage.
• Staffs all major external relations programs and regional events as needed. Undertakes special assignments as requested.

Qualifications

: 

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of supervisory/management experience; or a bachelor's degree and five years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
