Summary of Job Duties: The Assistant Director of Football Equipment Operations is responsible for the execution of the following functions for equipment operations: Assist in preparing football Nike orders and purchase orders; submit for approval and processing. Assist with modifying selection, quantities and embellishments of apparel, shoes, accessories and protective equipment. Ensure proper fitting of football equipment (e.g., helmets, shoulder pads, etc.). Distribute equipment to student-athletes, staff and others. Ensure measures are followed for proper equipment inventory control and record keeping with the mission of documenting all transactions of ordering, receiving and distribution of equipment. Ensure student athletes’ uniforms are in compliance with NCAA and SEC regulations and policies. Properly issue equipment through Equipment Manager Software and label applicable articles of equipment with recipients’ appropriate cloth label. Ensure adherence to NCAA, SEC, University of Arkansas and Athletic Department rules and regulations. Ensure laundry operations are properly conducted; coordinate laundry rotation schedules and hold student managers accountable. Delegate daily responsibilities and operations to managers and graduate assistant. Conduct field set-up and equipment operations for all Football practices and home/away games.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Sports Management or related field
Athletic Equipment Manager's Association (AEMA) Certification
Minimum three years experience working as a football equipment manager at NCAA Division I level
Experience operating CoachComm headsets and practice systems
Experience with procurement/ordering of football equipment/apparel
Experience fitting football equipment to NOCSAE standards
Experience with computerized inventory management system
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher from accredited institution of higher education in related field
Experience making buying decisions and ordering team apparel
Experience using ACS inventory manager system or similar system
Experience ordering on Nike’s “Gameday” purchasing platform
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Thorough understanding of all NCAA rules as they apply to athletic equipment/apparel
Experience with developing and implementing policies, procedures and internal controls
Demonstrates quality computer skills, as well as an ability to adapt to new systems/software as the University makes adjustments in its systems/software
Strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, organizational and administrative skills
Good communication and personal relations skills
Professionalism in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships
Ability to make competent, on-the-spot decision making and problem solving
