The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Operations and Player Development to support the Men's Baseball program.

This part-time, hourly position will assist in day-to-day practice facilitation, travel, player development, facility oversight, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. This position exists to provide operational and logistical support to the Intercollegiate Athletic sport program of Baseball and to assist in achieving a nationally recognized program, both on and off the field, in a manner that meets all guidelines set by the University of Virginia, the ACC, and the NCAA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies, including in person, phone, and electronic communication.
  • Provide operational and logistical support to all members of the Baseball coaching and support staff.
  • Assist in preparation for games and practices.
  • Support operational needs of the office and baseball program as assigned on day-to-day basis.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to accommodate overtime, including working irregular hours, and travel during the season.
  • Must possess good communication and team building skills.
