Assistant Director of Video Production - Pitt Studios Athletics Administration - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (25003410)
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Assistant Director of Video Production – Pitt Studios to service the needs of the University’s Athletic Department. This position will be responsible for collaborating with the Director of Production Management – Pitt Studios to assist with the post-production workload within the Athletic Department. This includes but is not limited to short-term and long-term production calendar planning, shooting and editing of internal and external video requests, assisting with the maintenance of the post-production budget, and overseeing sports team video coverage as directed. This position requires travel for in-season and post-season video. This position requires frequent camera operation, editing, basic graphic creation, and setup/teardown of equipment in Pitt Athletic facilities. This is a position that assists the sports and support areas of Pitt Athletics in achieving success in a Power Five NCAA division l fast-paced, collegiate environment. Understanding how video production can enhance recruitment and support coaching philosophies for Pitt sports programs and other support areas is essential. Job Summary Coordinates video production for specified sections of University athletics ensuring best standards for nationally televised events. Produces, edits, and finalizes videos. Develops and assists in video content production.
Essential Functions Assist with External and Internal video requests of the Athletic Department as directed by the Director of Production Management. The Assistant Director will largely focus on providing video content for our 19 Athletic teams. The Assistant Director will work to manage the content created and distributed for each team. This includes setup and teardown of equipment across multiple sites. This position also assists with pregame and postgame video needs as assigned. Work with 3 full-time post-production staff and freelancers to ensure home and away competitions are covered appropriately. Work with the Director of Production Management on a complete schedule to be shared with Coaches and Athletic Department staff. Contribute to any aspect of post-production within the athletic department and the needs of the post-production staff. The individual will be required to assist with multiple projects simultaneously. This position may be responsible for the oversight of an intern. This position is expected to promote growth and creativity within the video world. Encouraged to look for new video concepts and trends yearly to assist with the overall growth of the department.
Physical Effort The position requires lifting and moving of heavy video equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
