The Assistant Director / Sports Nutrition will support the Associate AD / Sports Nutrition with all nutrition services provided to Virginia Tech's student athletes. The Assistant Director will be primarily responsible for managing assigned teams’ game day operations for pre-competition meals, hydration, catering, recovery, and supplementation. Manage team travel nutrition needs, and travel when necessary. Assist in the management of the Olympic Sport Nutrition Oasis Fueling Station that fuels over 350 athletes per day. Also assist with the operations of the Student Athlete Performance Center dining facility. Dietetic intern oversight and clinical oversight for all Olympic sports. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Associate AD / Sports Nutrition for the operation of the VT Sports Nutrition Program.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree and/or bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field with related experience.
Significant experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Ability to work a nonstandard work week which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle a fast-paced, intense work environment.
Sports nutrition experience.

Previous employment in intercollegiate or professional athletics.
