Organization's Summary Statement: The Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development will provide program management and coordination for identity development initiatives for student-athletes. This position is designed to manage the Maryland Made Mentor Program and Maryland Made Leadership Academy; recruit alumni, employers, and student-athletes for participation in both; Assist in the development and facilitation of the Required Educational Programming as guided by the NCAA; Oversee and implement the brand management of Maryland Made Terps, including the Maryland Made LinkedIn Business Page; serve as primary liaison to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC); serve as the liaison to the University of Maryland's Strategic Communications teams and M Club; host educational programs and networking events for student-athletes; and provide regular communication to coaches, academic advisors, and internal and external partners.
Physical Demands: Sedentary work. The job requires occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force and frequently or constantly using a negotiable amount to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. It also requires the ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
Licenses/Certifications: NA.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in a professional setting.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Knowledge of athletics policies and procedures and federal, state, and other applicable, related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize within unit and department environment as well manage large-scale athletics-related projects.
Preferences: Creative and flexible to respond quickly to shifting priorities and opportunities. Demonstrate an understanding of social media (Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms), graphic design (CanvaPro), and video editing software programs.
