This position manages day-to-day activities to ensure the department is running efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of customers and staff. Assists with the management/administrative aspects and has operational control of a range of projects. May work on assignments related to project development and management initiatives, internal operating procedures, business processes and policies.

● Serve as a primary liaison between the athletic insurance office and student-athletes.
● Collect and interpret injury documentation to supply insurance companies with proper information to submit claims.
● Analyze primary insurance coverage packages to determine best course of action following an injury/accident.
● Assist the Director, Medical Insurance in tracking medical bills from submission through payment, to ensure they are being processed efficiently.
● Communicate with student-athletes, parents, certified athletic trainers, ISMI, insurance providers, and risk management to problem solve claim issues and help provide any additional documentation needed.
● Assist with identifying cost savings measures, including in-network appointment, provider contracting and payment effeciencies.
● Act as a contact in the recruiting process to help identify incoming student-athlete’s medical background and proposed course of action.
● Create and present student-athlete education for insurance policy guidelines for each team annually.

● Manage and track all prescription charges through pharmacy charge account (Albertsons).
● Act as a point of contact for all NCAA post-eligibility plan claims
● Research and identify coverage plans that best fit the changing landscape of college athletics (ie: Revenue sharing)
● Assist the Head of Sports Performance, Health and Wellness with special projects.
● Help oversee the management and renewal process for all athletic department staff CPR certification, as well as all ATC Board of Medicine licenses and CEU credits.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
● Ability to multitask and delegate.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills.
● Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
● Ability to perform a wide range of duties and tasks.
● Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
● Master’s degree in athletic training, kinesiology, physical therapy, health sciences or the like .
● Strong understanding of insurance networks and coverage packages.
● Proficient in using excel and specific injury tracking software such as Smartabase and Teamworks.
● Good understanding of medical terminology and insurance practices.
● Two (2)+ years of experience working in collegiate athletics.
