Reports to the Director of the Center for Student Success and Academic Excellence. The Assistant Director will work to meet the academic support needs of student-athletes. Specifically, this person will have oversight of the program administration and all aspects of academic advising and success coaching team for student-athletes; monitoring of daily, evening and some weekend study hall requirements.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervise Study Hall Assistant, Learning Strategist/Tutorial Coordinator and Student Athlete Success Coaches.
Work with coaches, academic advisors, student success coaches and other University and non-university constituents to facilitate success of assigned students.
Collaborate with the Athletic Director for Compliance to assist in determining NCAA and CIAA eligibility for continued enrollment and/or for competition
Recruit, hire, train and supervise mentor program.
Assist with the student-athlete recruiting process.

Develop assessment and evaluation
schemes for each program component.
Write required and ad-hoc reports including reporting requirements for the NCAA and CIAA.
Oversee and maintain required record keeping procedures.
Attend meetings and travel as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other duties as required.
An advanced degree (master’s or higher) and experience in management working in a professional academic support function at the university level. Knowledge of the university and its core curriculum and academic standards. Requires excellent time management skills. Ability to collect, assess and report on data related to the student-athlete performance and engagement. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to make presentations to large groups. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups including co-workers, students, faculty, and administration of the university. Ability to administer, analyze, and interpret cognitive and achievement assessments, as well as transcripts and other standardized assessments. Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Years of Experience, Skills, Training, and Education: 2- 6 years of experience working with advising student-athletes
