Position Summary

This full-time position reports to the Head Field Hockey Coach and is responsible to assist in all phases of the University’s field hockey program.

Principal Accountabilities

Effectively assisting in coaching a competitive D1 field hockey program in a manner, which promotes sportsmanship among athletes, ensuring compliance with all

NCAA

, America East conference, and institutional rules and regulations;

Effectively assists and performs on-field instruction, video presentations, and training sessions.

Effectively assisting in recruiting qualified student athletes to participate in the women’s athletic program, and effectively promoting Bryant University academic and athletic programs to potential students;

Ensuring that players associated with the field hockey program are eligible under

NCAA

and America East Conference regulations;

Assisting the Head Coach in developing and implementing clinic(s), summer camp(s), and on-campus tryouts,

Effectively monitoring student athlete academic progress; referring or counseling where appropriate.

Establishing and maintaining a professional demeanor with student athletes, parents, staff, guidance counselors, the community, and the media;

Developing and overseeing a video technology system to ensure accurate and timely equipment inventory, repair, replacement, issue,e and retrieval; coordinating various activities involved in scheduling facilities and events;

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position is best filled by an individual with an undergraduate degree and five or more years of collegiate field hockey playing and coaching experience, successful recruiting, coaching and counseling of student athletes at the Division I level. High-level playing experience, tactical and technical knowledge are preferred. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; experience motivating and supervising athletes and students, and a thorough understanding of and experience with

NCAA

rules.

The ability to manage multiple tasks and being highly motivated is essential. Knowledge of

GAMEBREAKER

, PowerPoint, and Keynote is required. A valid driver’s license is required for travel. This position is subject to the completion of a criminal background check and division of motor vehicles check.
