Assistant Football Coach-Defensive Coordinator
Texas Wesleyan University is seeking to hire a Football Defensive Coordinator responsible for planning and directing the recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management. Head coaching experience preferred. The candidate must have a strong focus on student-athlete academic success. The candidate must insist on exemplary student-athlete behaviors both on campus and in public. The candidate must have extensive coaching experience at either the high school or college level.
Develop coaching techniques, players, and overall strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction in areas deemed necessary for success.
Plan and coordinate defensive team scheduling, develop defensive game plans, call defensive games, etc.
Conduct comprehensive recruiting activities and coordinate with the Admissions Office to establish academic eligibility and possible financial aid packages.

Counsel team members on academic, disciplinary, and personal matters.
Coordinate with faculty and administration to resolve those problems within their jurisdiction.
Participate in fundraising, public relations activities, e.g., public appearances, attendance at conferences, etc.
Ensure compliance with
NAIA
and Sooner Athletic Conference League rules and regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
Willing to accept additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Bachelor’s Degree
Valid driver’s license
Must have extensive football knowledge, including recruitment, scheduling, student-athlete development, etc.
