The Assistant Football Coach, Wide Receivers Coach reports into the Head Football Coach and assists in the management of a varsity intercollegiate sports program and team. Specific responsibilities include assisting the Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator on the offensive side of the football team.
Essential Duties
Assists in the coordination of all aspects of the Offense while coaching an offensive skill position in the Wide Receivers.
Implements offensive principles, studies the opponent game film while assisting in game planning and installing game plans.
Evaluates athletes’ skills and review performance to determine the strengths and weaknesses of that week’s opponent.
Assists in planning coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NCAA regulations.
Acts as counsel /mentor to assigned student-athletes, focusing on academic, athletic and personal areas. Identifies and recruits prospective student-athletes, in accordance with Bentley University academic standards and NCAA Div. II regulations.
Provides scouting reports that detail player assessments and offers recommendations on athlete recruitment priorities. Monitors the academic eligibility of prospective student-athletes, ensuring the academic integrity of Bentley University is maintained in the acceptance of recruited student-athletes.
In direct planning with the Head Coach, assists in developing and executing successful recruiting strategies to meet the recruitment and retention goals set by Bentley University.
Monitors the academic eligibility of current student-athletes to ensure progress toward earning a degree in a defined academic program.
Maintains a high degree of professionalism and integrity on and off the field with student-athletes, the coaching staff, parents of student-athletes, staff members of the Athletic Department, University Administrators, and members of the community.
Must adhere to all applicable compliance regulations including but not limited to NCAA and the Northeast-10 Conference.

Other Duties
Assist offensive coordinator with video/breakdown analysis and scouting of opponents as requested. Train with student-athletes who may need additional time or individual coaching in order to maintain and improve their abilities.
Represent Bentley University in a professional way as host and visitor to other teams.
Assist with other administrative or coaching duties as requested by the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year collegiate institution.
2+ years of football coaching experience at the intercollegiate or high school level. Experience in coaching and knowledge of the fundamentals, tactics, and strategies of coaching Football with ability to recruit talented players for the program.
Proven ability to provide mentoring and leadership to student-athletes and a commitment to student athlete welfare. Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to NCAA/conference rules and requirements relevant to the conduct of an intercollegiate program.
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Excellent analytical, time management and decision-making skills.
Ability to work and/or travel, include evening, weekend, or limited overnight assignments.
Holding and maintaining a valid, unrestricted United States driver’s license, with an insurable driving history as determined by Bentley’s insurance carrier is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment includes standard office time, but more often time is spent outside on the playing fields at practices or games.
May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
