Salary:

Basic Function:

To assist Head Coach in coaching and administering the intercollegiate football program. Reports to Head Football Coach.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

Assist in providing leadership to offensive and defensive units of the football team; determine and utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork.

Assist in the development of team strategies; analyze performance of football team and adjust strategies as needed.

Represent the Head Coach in the absence of the Head Coach.

Perform public relations and marketing activities to promote athletic program; perform community relations activities.

Coordinate team travel arrangements.

Assist in scouting and recruiting student athletes.

Counsel and advise student athletes with personal or academic problems.

Serve as liaison with athletic academic support staff.

Organize squad/dress list.

Coordinate coaches clinic; supervise dress code for staff and team members.

Functional guidance of administrative/professional employees and/or direct supervision of support staff on an ongoing basis. May provide ongoing facilitation of consecutive projects.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field; six years progressively responsible experience coaching football.

License/Certification:

Knowledge Of:

National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations.

Skill In:

Training or instructing student athletes; interpersonal communication.

Ability To:

Analyze situations and develop solutions; travel and work non-traditional hours; manage people and projects.
