The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Manager – Events & Operations for Athletics Events – Operations department. This position works under the immediate direction of the Associate Athletic Director of Events & Scheduling.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least two (2) years of experience working in Event Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- Must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with all team members and customers by utilizing outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Must have a proven ability to lead a team and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage changing demands.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and experience using sound judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact.
- Must have extreme attention to detail, a high level of organization, and a high level of initiative and energy.
- Must be able to overcome obstacles independently, comfortable making decisions, and take full ownership of responsibilities.
- Must be able to effectively and persuasively communicate with many varied audiences: Coaches, staff, student-athletes, customers, vendors, fans, etc.
- Must be able to quickly and successfully diffuse, manage, and resolve conflict situations.
- Knowledge of NCAA and B1G Compliance rules.
