Summary of Job Duties: This position serves as an integral part in the success of our men's basketball team, conference-wide and nationally. This position serves as the primary skill instructor to assist our Head Coach in the recruitment of potential student athletes. This role also serves in an advisory capacity to the Head Coach for all matters related to scheduling. All duties and responsibilities are governed by state, federal and university policy.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit and evaluate prospective student athletes;
Assist in budget preparation and administration;
Compliance with all NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference and institutional rules;
Scout assigned opponents;
Monitor academic progress toward degree;
Assist head coach in practice and game preparation;
Assist in daily workouts with individual players;
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of NCAA, Ohio Valley Conference and University rules;
Ability to work nights and weekends;
Ability to travel extensively within the region and nationally for recruitment purposes;
Knowledge of budgeting processes;
Ability to interact in a professional manner with people and present a positive image of the University;
Ability to drive and operate a vehicle;
Must have the ability to rent a vehicle while on recruitment trips.
