Assistant Men's & Women's Swimming Coach

The Assistant Coach will perform the responsibilities directed by the head coach. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the coordination of the practices, individual training sessions, and recruiting. Administrative duties include credit card reconciliation, recruitment of student athletes, CARA logs, travel arrangements and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience  

Minimum of 2 years experience as a swimmer, and/or Coach/Teacher

Education  

Bachelor's degree required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

This position will assist with overseeing and mentoring graduate assistant and student assistant roles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Follow the guidance and direction of supervisor(s).
• Coach on deck, lead and mentor student athletes, recruit future student athletes, and stay present and engaged with what is going on with the team day to day.
• Demonstrate respectful, ethical, responsible behavior.
• Abide by the University’s policies, procedures, and rules.
• Perform employee responsibilities as detailed in employee handbooks and policies.
• Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties, including daily administrative tasks and special projects as required or assigned.
• Assist with the teaching of all fundamentals and techniques, game strategies, and knowledge of all aspects of the sport.
• Assist with teaching team and individual compliance to training rules and operating policies which govern their intercollegiate sport program.
• Assist with educating others and supporting the NCAA Division II Strategic Plan.
• Assist the head coach with budgeting, requisitioning, accounting for and storing of all athletic equipment and supplies needed and used in the sport program.
