Position Overview
WSSU’s Office of the Registrar provides services and support to students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni, the general public, government, state, and national educational agencies, and other University offices. The Office of the Registrar works directly with the Office of Admissions and the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid and reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management.The Assistant Registrar of Compliance and Certification is primarily responsible for the following: Serving as the School Certifying Official for military education beneficiaries; Managing National Student Clearinghouse (NSCH) and National Student Loan Data Systems (NSLDS) enrollment and graduation transmission reporting; Managing the department’s budgeting and purchasing activities; Assisting with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) eligibility certification; Assisting with immunization compliance in collaboration with the University Wellness Center; Assisting with registration activities; Assisting with the UNC Student Data Mart activities.

Veteran Affairs School Certifying Official Demonstrates knowledge of program policies and technology by maintaining enrollment status information in Enrollment Manager, Tungsten, and other military education benefits databases. Serves as the Veterans Affairs program expert by: Informing veterans’ benefits recipients about the policies and procedures of the Veterans Affairs programs and eligibility requirements; Explaining benefit-related decisions, policies, and procedures to applicants. National Student Clearinghouse (NSCH) and National Student Loan Data Systems (NSLDS) Coordinator Demonstrates knowledge of technology by generating enrollment and graduation reports from the Ellucian Banner student information system and uploading the transmission reports to the National Student Clearinghouse database.National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) LiaisonDemonstrates knowledge of program policies and technology by: Assisting with maintaining academic data in Compliance Assistant for all student-athletes on a term-by-term basis, demographic information, majors, and transfer status; Assisting with maintaining knowledge of all NCAA and University rules concerning academic standing and eligibility requirements. Immunization Compliance Liaison Demonstrates knowledge of program policies by assuring the required immunizations have been received by all new (undergraduate and graduate) students enrolling in college at any time during the year in collaboration with the University Wellness Center.

Program / Project Administration
This position will manage several and/or multifaceted program(s) or project(s) in their entirety by: Managing Veteran Affairs military education benefits activities; Managing National Student Clearinghouse and National Student Loan Data Systems reporting; Managing the Office of the Registrar’s departmental budget; Assisting with NCAA eligibility certification; Assisting with immunization compliance activities; Assisting with the UNC System Student Data Mart reporting. VA School Certifying Official Ensures institutional compliance with standards based on policies implemented by the Department of Defense (DoD), The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Department of Veteran Affairs by: Assuring Veterans Administration auditing requirements for compliance and accuracy of records are met; Monitoring and reporting on academic programs of veterans’ benefits recipients when necessary; Serving as a veteran’s benefits recipients’ liaison with the Veterans Affairs Regional Office, keeping abreast of VA programs and requirements; Assisting VA Vocational Rehab students in process documentation; working with the Cashier’s Office, Accounts Receivable, University Store, Parking Services, and the VA Regional Offices to address and resolve programs where appropriate; Assisting in yearly federal VA audits; Collaborating with leadership in all aspects of VA compliance procedures. National Student Clearinghouse (NSCH) and National Student Loan Data Systems (NSLDS) Liaison Ensures compliance with the National Student Clearinghouse and National Student Loan Data System by the timely submission of enrollment and graduation transmission reporting. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Liaison Ensures compliance with the NCAA student-athlete eligibility programs by: Assisting with the completion of NCAA reporting requirements; Assisting with evaluating degree audits and other academic records to ensure conformity with NCAA initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility regulations. Immunization Compliance Liaison Ensures compliance with the North Carolina immunization law by assisting with the submission of the annual College Immunization report. UNC System Student Data Mart Liaison Ensures compliance with the UNC System Student Data Mart by the timely submission of data reporting.
