Job Description

The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Soccer Coach. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 205 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing administrative, instructional and coaching assistance to the Head Coach with the purpose of building a successful, competitive intercollegiate sports program that also retains and graduates student-athletes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required
  • Minimum 3 years of successful soccer coaching experience at the NCAA Division I or Champioship level
  • Extensive experience effectively developing and training field players at the collegiate or professional level
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as demonstrated through public speaking, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques.
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Working knowledge of and ability to:

    • Utilize basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)
