Position Title: Asst Coach (Temp)-WSOCC - 991009
Position Overview & Job Duties:
This position will assist the Women's Soccer program with planning and conducting training sessions, providing coaching and instruction to student athletes, coordinating practices, games and other events, and ensuring compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with the coach staff in directing all phases of a Division II program, organizing and supervising practices and games, sport-specific training and skill instruction for goalkeepers. Responsibilities also include other duties as assigned by the head coach or associate head coach, such as oversight of a specific position group, and assist staff with basic office functions and responsibilities. This is an entry-level temporary part-time position that is not eligible to accrue sick leave or vacation.
Supply input to practices and workouts throughout the year. Be available to provide positive feedback in order to help the UCO soccer program achieve and maintain a level of excellence. Assist in running technical and functional drills during training sessions. Help in planning and organizing meals during preseason and in season. Assist with the laundry needs such as washing and distribution of practice and competition equipment and apparel. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
The assistant will work closely with NCAA Athletic Compliance staff to ensure adherence to all applicable NCAA, Conference and University regulations. Upon notification of any NCAA violation, the assistant will report the violation to the NCAA Compliance Office. The assistant also has responsibility to follow applicable procedures and cooperate fully with any and all investigations of potential violations of NCAA, Conference, University or departmental rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. A coach who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.
Travel may be required. Working nights and weekends occasionally. Non-business hour schedule is typical during specific times of the year.
