Job Summary

The Assistant Softball Coach will assist the Head Softball Coach with various on and off the field Responsibilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to keeping practice logs, organizing practices, expense report compliance, mentoring student-athletes and game day operations.

Job Duties

Summary of Job Duties:

• Assist with planning and executing the practice schedule
• Perform on field drills and instruction
• Be responsible for logistics and operations for traveling and home games.
• Coordinate the recruiting schedule and visits, when applicable.
• Coordinate uniform and equipment needs and their availability for practice and games
• Monitor academic achievement of student-athletes and assist as necessary
• Assist in managing budget and expense report activities and reporting
• Responsible for team statistics and scouting opposing teams

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
At least one (1) year of softball college coaching experience is required.

Other Preferences for Consideration

Preferences

• Master’s degree in any discipline preferred
• two (2) or more years of Softball College Coaching Experience
• Strong understanding of all aspects of social media is preferred
• Previous experience coaching on the collegiate level is highly desirable
• two (2) or more years of Collegiate Playing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Position requires weekend and night work
• Thorough knowledge of applicable NCAA rules and regulations is required
• Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable NCAA, MEAC conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required
• Ability to lead and motivate student-athletes is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
• High level of organizational skills
• Ability to work long hours
• Ability to travel
• Ability to carry and left 25 lbs.
