Position Title: Â Assistant Softball Coach / Assistant Sports Information Director
Full-Time ExemptÂ

Position Overview
Lane College is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented professional to serve in a dual-capacity role as Assistant Softball Coach and Assistant Sports Information Director (SID). This position plays a vital role in supporting the women’s softball program while overseeing statistical operations for multiple athletic teams, ensuring compliance with NCAA and SIAC requirements, and enhancing the visibility of Lane College Athletics.

Key Responsibilities

Softball Program Support

• Assist the Head Softball Coach with all aspects of the program, including planning and conducting practices, preparing for and coaching games, coordinating team travel, and overseeing day-to-day team operations.

• Assist with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, including evaluation, communication, and campus visits.

• Promote academic success and personal development of student-athletes.

Sports Information Support

• Oversee game-day statistical operations for football, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball, ensuring compliance with NCAA and SIAC standards.

• Prepare and submit timely game statistics, reports, and related documentation.

• Train and supervise student workers and volunteers for game-day operations.

• Collaborate closely with the SID consultant to ensure accurate and timely sports coverage across all assigned sports.

• Provide occasional photography and media content support as needed.

Other Requirements

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and during academic breaks as scheduled.

• Travel with teams as needed for games and tournaments.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• Collegiate-level coaching and/or sports information experience preferred.

• Knowledge of NCAA statistical software (NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew) strongly preferred.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work irregular hours and travel as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Frequent evening and weekend hours during the athletic season.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, operate statistical equipment, and perform duties in varying weather conditions.
