Assistant Sport Scientist

Job Description:
The Assistant Sport Scientist will join the integrated Sport Performance Department consisting of Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Sport Psychology, Performance Nutrition, and Sport Science.
The Assistant Sport Scientist will have primary team assignments and will collaborate with respective Sport Performance Department colleagues in support of sport coaches and student-athletes. A qualified candidate will be responsible for the operation of Sport Science technology; data analysis and data visualization to provide feedback and recommendations for staff and coaches; the use of data-centric and educational tools to enhance championship-level communication; oversight of Sport Science technology inventory for assigned teams; and assist with the development and integration of all new technology within the athlete management system.
The Assistant Sport Scientist will receive mentorship and support from the Performance Innovation Team (PIT). The PIT is a one-of-a-kind partnership that merges the Department of Athletics’ Sport Performance Team with the OSU Human Performance Collaborative (HPC) with the mission to provide industry-leading tools, technology, knowledge, innovation, and research to directly support the development and performance of student-athletes.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Years of relevant experience required: 2. Preferred minimum years of relevant experience: 2-4
Required Qualifications
1+ years of experience in applied sport science in NCAA or Professional Sport, including experience with data analytics and data visualization.
