Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for working with individual athletes and groups to build appropriate strength and muscle sets specific to their role on their team. The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Strength and Conditioning.

Job Duties

- Provide all scheduling, training, testing, organization and administration of assigned teams, which may include educating student-athletes in areas of nutrition and banned substances.
- Provide direct assistance with the football program.
- Assist with maintenance of weight rooms and all equipment.
- Actively enforce weight room and UIW Athletic Department rules / policies at all times.
- Collaborate and work effectively with all Sports Medicine staff, sport coaches, Administration and University staff.
- Supervise graduate assistants and/or volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Must have a sincere desire and passion to assist student-athletes in reaching their athletic performance and personal goals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work with large groups.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Bachelor’s Degree.
|
| Required Work Experience |
One (1) year of experience as a collegiate strength and conditioning trainer. Note that said experience at the graduate assistant level will be considered.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master’s Degree or working toward Master’s degree.
- S.C.C.C (CSCCa) certification.
- USAW Sports Performance Coach Certification.
- NSCA / C.S.C.S certification.

| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid drivers license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Business hours of Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility; extended hours as required, including weekends, evenings and some holidays based on team schedule.

| Physical Demands |
- Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 90 pounds waist high.
- Ability to effectively move about to appropriately demonstrate weight training exercises to build appropriate strength and muscle sets, as well as assist as appropriate during games.
