The Iowa State University football program is accepting applications for an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position will assist in strength and conditioning of football student-athletes and play a vital role in prevention of injuries, promotion of team culture, and increased athletic performance, competitiveness and program success.
What you’ll do :
The ideal candidates will have solid technical knowledge with football S&C at a highly competitive level, proven analytical skills, and exceptional motivational, teaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. This position requires the flexibility to work assigned evenings, weekends, extended hours, and to travel with a team.
Candidates are required to have and maintain current certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification program in accordance with NCAA requirements.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience coaching strength and conditioning for a professional or collegiate football program.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCa.
CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience strength coaching for a NCAA DI football program.
Master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field.
Experience monitoring and preparing athlete performance reports using performance technology (e.g. force plates, velocity-based training, Kitman, Vald, Catapult).
