This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for carrying out all duties assigned by the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach as they relate to the administration of the sport and to always work in the best interest of the student athletes and the volleyball program. • Conduct and direct instructional camps for area youth.
• Coordinate with Assistant Director of Athletic for Communication and Media Relations on providing program information and statistics to media and fans via press releases, media guides, game programs and web site.
• Assist and cooperate with athletic trainers to support injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation efforts for student-athletes, ensuring their physical and mental well-being while respecting the trainer’s primary responsibility in these areas.
• Assist in the development of a recruitment plan and actively recruit student athletes.
• Assist in the development of and actively participate in a plan to enhance public relations for the volleyball program.
• Track academic progress and overall welfare of student-athletes within the program.
• Establish and maintain an ethical and moral code of behavior and living that is expected of all players and staff members within the program.
• Develop practice schedules and teach the fundamental skills of the game.
• Follow all NCAA, NSIC and institutional policies.
• Actively participate in campus committees and forums.
• Support the philosophy and mission of the department and institution.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
• Collegiate coaching experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and motivational abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Successful completion of a criminal history background check required before employment
