Other duties as directed by Head Women’s Basketball Coach
A. Coaching and Teaching student-athletes
Teach and instruct principles, skills and techniques of the game.
Teach and develop physical skills of basketball.
Teach and develop mental skills of basketball.
Ascertain game plan for opponent.
Organize game film for staff and team.
Teach and develop spiritual and relational goals for basketball student-athletes.
B. Recruiting
Evaluate potential basketball student-athletes
Recruit potential basketball student-athletes via mail-outs, phone contacts, and personal visits on and off campus.
Establish and develop relationships with high school coaches, AAU Coaches, and other sources of potential basketball student-athletes.
C. NCAA Regulations
Responsible for understanding NCAA rules for yourself and your student-athletes.
Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Abilene Christian University. As a member of the athletics department staff, it is expected that you will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to your position. It is also expected that you will comply with all NCAA rules, and if you become aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred, you will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee
