Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. This is an in-person, 12-month position. The position reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to assisting the Head Basketball Coach in the day-to-day operations of a Division II program; ensure that the Basketball program demonstrates a commitment to academics and to maintain compliance with NCAA, RMAC, Western Colorado University, and State of Colorado rules and regulations; recruit student-athletes for Western Colorado University; practice & game preparation; promote Western Colorado Athletics through functions and events; run summer camps; perform additional duties as assigned by the University; and help build an overall strong culture within the program and athletic department
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, 1 year of collegiate playing experience and/or coaching experience. Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA Division II basketball practices & regulations. Ability to establish good report and relationships with players, administrators, staff, alumni, and the general public.
Preferred Qualifications: Coaching experience at the collegiate level & playing experience at the collegiate level.
Compensation: This is a full-time, twelve-month position with an initial salary of $40,560. Western provides excellent, shared-contribution insurance and retirement plans, paid time off and access to other University benefits
