Coaching
Assists the Head Coach in developing and implementing practice plans, game strategies and team development activities.
Analyzes team and player performance through film breakdown and assists in developing improvement plans.
Mentors and supports student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes academic success, personal growth and athletic excellence.
Assists in recruiting efforts by identifying and evaluating potential student-athletes and building relationships with high school and club coaches.
Academic Liaison Responsibilities
Serves as the primary academic liaison between the Women’s Basketball program and the university’s academic departments.
Monitors and tracks the academic progress of the team’s student-athletes, ensuring that they meet
NCAA
eligibility requirements.
Develops and maintains relationships with academic advisors, faculty and campus resources to support the academic success of student-athletes.
Provides academic support and guidance to student-athletes, helping them develop time-management skills and balance their academic and athletic responsibilities.
Coordinates tutoring services, study halls and other academic resources.
Communicates regularly with student-athletes to ensure they are meeting academic expectations and intervening when necessary to address academic concerns or challenges.
Assists with class scheduling and registration.
Ensures all student-athletes have access to academic resources to support their overall well-being and success.
Recruiting Support
Assists in the recruitment process by identifying top talent, evaluating players and attending scouting events.
Develops relationships with prospective recruits and their families and promotes the university’s academic and athletic opportunities.
Helps organize and coordinate official and unofficial visits, ensuring prospects have a positive on-campus experience.
Administrative Duties
Assists in developing and executing team-building activities and community service projects.
Helps organize and plan team events, including logistics for pre-season, post-season and away travel.
Maintains accurate records.
Bachelor’s degree.
At least two years of coaching experience at the college or professional level.
Experience working as an academic advisor or providing academic services for student-athletes.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Strong background in
NCAA
compliance and academic regulations.
Strong understanding of
NCAA
Division I rules and regulations, particularly those related to academic eligibility and recruiting.
Knowledge of recruiting software and databases and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact positively with a diverse group of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and staff.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills and the ability to balance multiple concurrent responsibilities.
Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete welfare and academic success.
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the recruiting and coaching calendar.
Ability to travel and work nights and weekends.
Valid driver's license.
