Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Associate AD of Athletics Communications will:

Work collaboratively with senior leadership around the development of strategies for public relations, media relations/sports information, brand management, creative services, website management, marketing, and social media strategies.

Manage/lead the Athletic Communications team.

Independently direct, develop timelines, assign personnel, and manage the successful completion of multiple, concurrent projects.

Direct the review, planning, and implementation of all Athletic Communications Office policies and determine appropriate levels of accountability.

Develop and administer the Athletics Communication Budget.

Advise/contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that align with the university’s strategic plan.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment and 5+ plus years of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Master’s Degree with at least five years of experience in a related field.

Prior management experience with ability to lead, develop, and mentor employees.

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills combined with the skill in interacting with diverse department, University and community constituencies.

Ability to strategically manage, direct and complete multiple projects and assignments concurrently.

Extensive writing, editing, desktop publishing, website and social media skills.

Ability to develop and disseminate information with sensitivity and urgency under tight deadlines.

Knowledge of

NCAA

rules and regulations with practical, hands-on experience in applying Division I regulations.
