Job Summary:
The Associate/Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach works closely with the Head Coach on managing and administering phases of this varsity intercollegiate sports program. This position is part of the Department of Athletics and Recreation at Bucknell University, a member of the NCAA Division I (FCS in Football) and the Patriot League for 23 of 27 varsity sports.
All Athletics staff members are expected to contribute to Bucknell's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Primarily on-campus
Must be able to travel with the team for competitions and for recruiting, per permitted recruiting calendar
Requires night and weekend availability
What You Will Do:
Associate
Recruitment Strategy and Coordination (50%) Lead scouting and recruitment of quality student-athletes and coordinate all recruiting activities with the head coach and with appropriate departmental personnel. This includes setting recruitment priorities for each class and targeting specific positions, skill sets, or qualities to improve the team.
Coaching Responsibilities (40%) Lead, monitor, and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Assist and perform specific coaching responsibilities during athletic events. Attend coaches’ preparatory meetings and implement strategies resulting from these meetings. Assist with daily operations and administration of the football program. Develop a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport and maintain a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University and NCAA regulations.
Student-Athlete Services (20%) Monitor student-athlete academic progress. Work closely with all appropriate departmental personnel to ensure the academic success of students. Work closely with student-athletes to monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance, and behavior. Provide individual counseling to student-athletes when appropriate and direct the student-athlete to professional staff when needed. Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes. Participate in departmental activities as feasible.

Be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and assessing for a specific geographical area or position group.
Student-Athlete Services (20%) Monitor student-athlete academic progress. Work closely with all appropriate departmental personnel to ensure the academic success of students. Work closely with student-athletes to monitor adherence to rules and regulations regarding conduct, appearance, and behavior. Provide individual counseling to student-athletes when appropriate and direct the student-athlete to professional staff when needed. Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes. Participate in departmental activities as feasible.

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 3 years of coaching at a professional or collegiate level
Minimum 1-2 years recruiting at a professional or collegiate level
Ability to maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
Valid US driver's license/Motor Vehicle Check required upon hire
Assistant
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 1 year of of coaching at a professional or collegiate level
Ability to maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
Valid US driver's license/Motor Vehicle Check required upon hire
Associate
Division I coaching experience
Demonstrated success at a comparable institution
Proven integrity and leadership skills
Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Assistant
Strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified student-athletes

Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day

65,680.00-90,800.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
