Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position is responsible for directing the work required to comply with The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Big Sky Conference, and University rules and regulations which include but are not limited to: amateurism, eligibility, financial aid, playing and practice seasons; education and monitoring of student athletes, coaches, and athletic department staff, ethical conduct, recruiting and related matters. The Associate Athletic Director/SWA will oversee academic and student-athlete support services by being the primary Athletics Department contact with Student Accounts, Residence Life, and Financial Aid Office. This position will also serve as Sport Administrator for sport programs as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of 5 years experience working at a NCAA Division I institution or equivalent. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to make independent, informed decisions in a demanding environment. Excellent communication skills across multiple constituencies. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree. Minimum of 2 years experience at a NCAA Division I institution.

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement

Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
