The Associate Athletic Trainer will report to the Associate Athletic Director of Sports Medicine. The position will supervise and coordinate athletic training services for student-athletes in intercollegiate athletic programs, primarily football; secondary sport responsibilities as needed. Essential duties include but are not be limited to: collecting pre-participation medical paperwork, organizing and scheduling pre-participation physical exams, assist with the prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, physician referral, and medical documentation of all injuries associated with assigned student athletes; design and implement rehabilitation plan; establishing criteria for safe return to practice and play and implementing the return to play process; communicate with coaches, student athletes, parents, staff and physicians within NATA and HIPAA guidelines; observe all athletic policy and procedures in accordance with NATA regulations as well as NCAA, Conference USA and MTSU rules and remain certified to perform these duties on a daily basis. Coordinate Concussion testing and baseline testing for all assigned student athletes; provide supervision of daily practice and game coverage, in-season travel, and summer sports workout coverage for assigned student athletes as permitted by NCAA legislation. This position must be flexible, adapt to schedule changes as necessary, and serve as an approved preceptor within the CAATE-accredited graduate athletic training program. Provide direct supervision of intern athletic trainers, graduate athletic training students in the athletic training education program, and undergraduate student assistants assigned to football and/or other sports, as assigned; instruct these students in professional prevention, care, and rehabilitation of assigned student-athletes and the certification and licensure process. Required to attend national NATA and Conference USA meetings and/or conventions to remain current in their field for changes that occur; comply with NCAA, CAATE, and NATA legislation and immediately report any known violations of any of these rules to the Compliance office and submit all required documentation to the Compliance office immediately. The Associate Athletic Trainer will assist with coordinating the drug testing/educational program for all student-athletes and perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
Two (2) of progressively responsible, relevant collegiate and/or clinical athletic training experience.
NATA BOC certification and Tennessee State Licensure, or eligible for Tennessee State Licensure. Knowledge of NCAA, CUSA & NATABOC rules and regulations required. CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification required.
Four (4) years of progressively responsible Division I Athletic Training
CES, CSCS, PES, Dry Needling Preferred
