Summary of Job Duties: The Associate Head Men's Tennis Coach or Assistant Men's Tennis Coach will assist the Head Men's Tennis Coach in the overall operation of a Division I men's tennis program for the University of Arkansas. Responsibilities include managing practice, match preparation, overseeing administrative processes and player development. Assist in recruiting talented student-athletes to the program. This involves scouting potential recruits, attending tournaments, evaluating players' abilities, and building relationships with high school coaches and players in order to recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
(Assistant) Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least one year of experience in collegiate or elite-level tennis coaching or playing at the NCAA Division I level or equivalent international/professional experience
Experience in player development, practice planning, and match preparation
Ability to effectively recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes, with a focus on athletic ability, academics, and character
(Associate) Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least three years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate, professional, or international level, including demonstrated success in recruiting and developing top-level talent
Proven track record of contributing to team success at the conference or national level
Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience supervising or mentoring staff or student-athletes
Experience with organizing and conducting team practices, individual workouts, and competitive match strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience competing or coaching at the NCAA Division I level, especially within a Power Five conference or internationally competitive programs
Professional or high-level collegiate playing experience, ideally with national or international rankings
Demonstrated success in international and domestic recruiting, including familiarity with NCAA eligibility and transfer processes
Strong networking connections within USTA, ITF, and/or ATP/college tennis communities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations and commitment to compliance
Knowledge of Southeastern Conference rules and regulations
Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and training methods
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to recruit and develop high-level student-athletes
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required
