Position Overview: The Associate Head Track & Field Coach will assist in the development and management of the Wheeling University Track & Field program. This individual will play a critical role in coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties to ensure the success and integrity of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the Track & Field program.
• Develop training plans and competition strategies that promote athlete development and competitive success.
• Recruit high-quality student-athletes within the guidelines of Wheeling University and the NCAA.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and personal development, emphasizing academic success, personal growth, and social responsibility.
• Assist in managing the Track & Field budget, including equipment purchases, travel arrangements, and scholarship allocations.
• Represent Wheeling University and the Track & Field program in a professional manner, adhering to all university, conference, and NCAA regulations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that encourages leadership, accountability, and respect among student-athletes.
• Conduct community service and fundraising activities to support the program and its mission.
• Collaborate with other university departments and external partners to enhance the visibility and support for Wheeling University Track & Field.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level in Track & Field.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop student-athletes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the academic success and personal development of student-athletes.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
