The Assistant Athletic Director for Communications leads all aspects of communication for The University of South Dakota Athletics including the development and execution of communication strategies. The Assistant AD for Communications collaborates with applicable departmental units (e.g., University Relations, Creative Services and Marketing & Branding, etc.) in planning, editing and strategically telling the Athletic Department’s best stories while promoting and protecting the
USD
Athletics brand. These stories are produced in a myriad of ways – videos, graphics, motion graphics and animations, written stories, photographs, media releases and media pitches – and on multiple channels – through our social media, video productions, website, app and external media. This role will also be responsible for managing, and developing a team of direct reports, will maintain an active presence with all internal and external stakeholders and maintain team statistics and historical records. This position must have an ability to cultivate and strengthen media relationships.
