Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for an Assistant Women's Rowing Coach.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head Women’s Rowing Coach, the Assistant Coach aids in developing a competitive Women’s Rowing program at the Division I level. The primary role of the Assistant Coach is to instruct student-athletes in the sport of Women’s Rowing. This involves focusing on the fundamentals, leading practices and meetings scheduled from Monday to Friday, and preparing for competitions. 

The Assistant Women’s Rowing Coach supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program established by the Head Coach. This includes, but is not limited to, creating, planning, organizing, teaching, motivating, communicating, and managing aspects related to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, and associated booster clubs. The Assistant Women’s Rowing Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values of the University, the Department, and the sport, both on and off the competitive field. Additionally, the Assistant Women’s Rowing Coach must be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policies governing their sport, as well as NCAA and conference policies regarding recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. Evidence of the Assistant Women’s Rowing Coach's understanding of these rules and policies will be demonstrated by their successful completion of the annually administered NCAA Coaches Exam. The Assistant Women’s Rowing Coach also undertakes other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of previous rowing experience as a collegiate coach and/or collegiate student-athlete. Experience administering Division I NCAA rules. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Education & Experience:

Preferred:

• NCAA Division I experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and allocating a budget.
• Demonstrated experience fundraising towards the achievement of program goals. 
• Demonstrated experience with boat trailer transportation
• Demonstrated experience with boat rigging and maintenance.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to assist with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment.
• Ability to implement policies and guidelines for all Women’s Rowing personnel and student-athletes.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.
• Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.
• Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license or the ability to obtain one if hired and good driving record.
