Athletic Academic Advisor I
Athletic Academic Counselors will monitor degree progress each semester with regard to institutional, conference and
NCAA
requirements; collaborate with Department (major) Advisors for course selection and credit loads for student-athletes; meet regularly with students regarding academic matters and serve as a liaison to faculty on behalf of students when necessary; serve academic recruiting liaison for respective sport and process transcript evaluations for incoming student-athletes, monitor initial and continuing eligibility; serve as a member of the

projections and anticipated graduation rates (
GSR
)
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling or a related field. 3-5 years of academic advising experience in an intercollegiate athletic setting; professional experience working in a college level academic support office, teaching college level courses, or experience in training and supervision; previous experience overseeing undergraduate and graduate student workers; knowledge of student-athlete issues and the ability to assist students in navigating personal issues that may impact their student-athlete experiences.
Lifting, Carrying, Stooping, Bending, Kneeling, Squatting, Walking, Standing, Sitting, Cognitive Ability (clear thinking ability, discernment and ability to make decisions. Read, write, problem-solve use of discretion.
