Job Summary: The Athletic Event worker provides assistance to the assigned area.
Additional Department Summary: Serves as the Emcee for University of Alabama Athletics Events. Creates positive energy, keeps the audience engaged, and helps the event run smoothly and on time. Keeps track of the schedule throughout the event, making sure each segment starts and ends on time. Handles and adapts to unexpected changes or delays so that the flow isn’t disrupted. Performs other duties for Marketing/Promotions, as required during athletic events. This position will be primarily assigned to Volleyball, Baseball, and Women’s Basketball events, but will serve as a back up emcee for other athletics events, if needed.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and some experience serving as emcee for sporting events. Experience with and in-depth knowledge of the assigned sports. Sample work and/or in-person tryouts will be steps in the hiring process.
