Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Summary: The Athletic Intern assists in the daily operations of the Athletic Department. Provides practice coverage for assigned sport. Serve as the onsite liaison for student athletes.
Additional Department Summary: To assist with all primary medical care for athletes in an assigned sport including daily treatment and rehabilitation. To aid in coverage of all practices or related activities for the sport and program. Provide transportation of athletes to appointments and procedures. Assist with upkeep and inventory of all athletic training room supplies. Aid with management of all athletic training undergraduate students. Have the capacity to travel for all related activity including competition and all supplementary duties as assigned.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Athletic Training and/or currently enrolled in an Athletic Training Program (BSAT or MSAT); OR Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association
Skills and Knowledge: Basic knowledge of NCAA Division I policies and procedures. Experience working with a diverse student population and understanding of multicultural issues. Creative thinking and problem solving skills.
