The Athletic Operations Manager is a full time position that assists in the planning and preparation of assigned facilities and events and serves as Administrative support for Athletic Operations. The position will be responsible for but not limited to work orders, inventory, budget tracking, payroll, the Victory Team (Athletics Usher Group), tours and other related operational tasks. In conjunction, the incumbent must be aware of NCAA, SEC, state and university rules and regulations.
45% Provide administrative support to all members of the Athletics Operations Department. This position will be responsible for entering and tracking work orders, tracking inventory and budgets, processing payroll for civil service and transient employees, access control for all athletic buildings and working directly with Operations Staff on other administrative tasks.
20% Manage and supervise the Victory Team (Athletics Ushers). This includes the hiring, training and scheduling for event support. The Victory Team will also be used to manage access, greet and assist all visitors to the Athletics Administration Building. The Victory Team is a vital piece of the day to day operation for the Athletic Administration Building and the game day experience which requires exceptional customer service.
20% Responsible for facility and event management duties for assigned sport(s), special events and venues. Plan and prepare guest service and security needs for events, and develop best practice guidelines for staff. Conduct sport meetings, evaluate and communicate with coaches and support staff. Provide or request for maintenance, upkeep, planning, and implementation of projects for assigned buildings.
10% Manage tour, photo and other fan related access activities for Tiger Stadium and other Athletics Facilities. This position will schedule all activities, work with various groups on the timing and execute the overall plan for the year. Hire, train and schedule tour guides for all scheduled tours and photo sessions.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with two years experience in a collegiate athletics or related environment; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Knowledge of Windows based computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree; Relevant experience at the NCAA Division I level; Proficiency using EMS facility and event scheduling software and Sling employee scheduling software.
Special or Physical Requirements
Ability to work extended days and weekends; Valid driver's license; Due to the nature of the job duties, pre-employment physical required
