Position Description:
The Athletic Performance Data Analyst I will be responsible for managing the Athlete Management System (AMS) for the University of Louisville Athletics Health & Performance Department. They will assist with data collection using various technologies and address key health and performance questions by assisting with a broad array of data science and performance analytics procedures. This role will involve extensive collaboration across all health and performance disciplines to determine the most important insights that can maximize athlete health, performance, and wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain and advance the Athlete Management System (AMS) for the University of Louisville Athletics Health & Performance Department.
Coordinate with Mental Health & Performance, Sports Medicine, Sports Nutrition, Sports Performance, Operations, and Administration to maintain smooth workflows for the electronic athlete mental health and performance screening process.
Collaborate with the Health and Performance Team involved with each sport to determine insights they seek to effectively manage their athletes in real time.
Coordinate with industry partners to solidify API integrations between external technologies and AMS.
Ensure relevant AMS data is readily available in strength and conditioning management software to enable training program prescription and modification in real-time.
Stay up to date with the latest sport science research and reporting practices, and apply new knowledge and applications to improve athletic health and performance management practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Sports Science or a related field.
At least One (1) year of related experience within a collegiate or professional sports setting.
CPSS certified or certification eligible.
Strong programming skills (e.g. R, Python, etc.) and at least One (1) year of related experience with athlete management software platforms.
Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
