Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified, BOC certified, and licensed in the state of Tennessee.
Must maintain and possess a valid driver’s license.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
The department is especially interested in candidates with a Master’s degree and experience in Division I setting.
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Some evenings and weekends may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Job Duties
| Duties & Responsibilities |
Performs Injury and illness prevention, evaluation, management, treatment, and rehabilitation. Provides first aid and emergency care coverage during practices, games, training sessions, and travel. Designs and performs rehabilitation exercise programs for injured athletes. Applies preventative taping and/or bracing to prevent or protect against athletic injuries. Administrates therapeutic modality treatments on injured athletes.

Communicates with physicians and coaches regarding the physical progress of athletes. Coordinates physician care for injured or ill athletes.

Assist with coordination of pre-participation physical exams on all athletes. Coordinates the medical records files for assigned student-athletes.

Coordinates with dieticians on the nutritional needs for athletes and assists with education on health issues for coaches and athletes.

Assists in the hiring and supervision of the Athletic Training Fellows department.

Assists with inventory tracking and making sure equipment is in proper condition to use.

Must maintain NATA-BOC certification, State of Tennessee Licensure, and CPR/AED certification.
Stays current in the athletic training field through continuing education classes and industry-specific publications. |
