Job Description:

This role is responsible for: injury and illness prevention and wellness promotion, examination, assessment and diagnosis of injury and illness, immediate and emergency care of the student athlete, therapeutic interventions and healthcare administration and professional responsibility. The position will work directly with student athletes and will also oversee assigned athletic trainers covering various other sports and any additional coverage needs as determined by the Senior Associate AD for Health & Wellness.
This position will also be responsible for various departmental administrative oversight, assisting in policy and procedure development and the education and counseling of student athletes and coaches.
This role will also assist the sports medicine staff in various other areas as deemed necessary by the Senior Associate AD for Health & Wellness. This role will be responsible for maintaining a commitment to MAC & NCAA Rules and Compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
•Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association
• A minimum of a master’s degree and three (3) years’ experience in a medical related field
•CPR certification.
•Must have the Ohio Athletic Training license.
Communication and other skills:
•Excellent oral & written communication skills are required.
•Excellent organizational skills are required.
•Exceptional computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office are required.
•Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
•Must have the ability to, as well as meet the requirement to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University Mandatory Training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth therein.
•Flexibility in work hours/days
•Ability to function as a member of a sports medicine team.
•Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior.
