The Athletic Training Operations Manager (ATOM) will assist the athletic training staff in their daily services for Ferrum’s 20 varsity programs. The candidate will be responsible for aiding the Head Athletic Trainer in athletic training room operations, organization, sanitization, and appointment designation as well as serving as practice and game communication liaison. This position does not require athletic training education as the ATOM will not provide any medical services outside of the scope of a First Aid certification.

Essential Functions:

• Assist with the daily operations of the athletic training rooms in Swartz and Norton and daily practices.
• Assist with facility cleaning, supply organization, practice setup, water preparation, and daily cleanup.
• Communicate with coaches and athletes regarding athletic trainer availability and assist with appointment scheduling as necessary.
• Provide first-aid care at practices and competitions under a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
• Assist with inventory maintenance.
• Serve in administrative capacity as needed and directed by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or the Director of Athletics.
• Accompany a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) on some travel responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree; basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.

Required Licenses:

Current First Aid/Emergency Cardiac Care Certified (ECC) certification; Current and valid driver’s license required.
